I must perform 225 kilometers to get the SPARTATHLON (SP) AQ (automatic qualifer) for the 2023 race. This is the last chance! (And I need to submit my SP application at evening 26th.)

I also need to do 244 kilomters to get into the national 24 hour team for IAU World Champs in Taipei December 2023. After XIV Endurance 24h, I must focus at BADWATER 135 — for the July 4th race — and do not have time to do another try for 244 km / 24.

Nutrition strategy:

Step 1:

  • As simple as possible. Use 0.5 to 0.75 dl (3 x bottles) Tailwind per hour for “as long as possible”.
  • 1 scoop per 0.25 dl → 100 kcal — 25 gram carbs.
  • Aim for 3 x bottles per hour: 300 kcal — 75 gram carbs
  • Himalaya salt ad hoc

Step 2:

  • When that is not working, move over to two gels with Maurten / per hour. 2 gels → 50 gram carbs
  • Himalaya salt ad hoc

Step 3:

  • When that is not working whatever is working;
